Lorica Segmentata, Type Kalkriese
Very authentic reconstruction of the Roman armour Lorica Segmentata, type Kalkriese.
The Lorica Segmentata has been used by the Roman army for more than 200 years. The earliest findings were in Kalkriese, Germany, and are supposed to come from the year 9 anno Domini.
Kalkriese is a presumed site of the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest. In contrary to later versions, e.g. from Newstead, the armours from Corbridge and Kalkriese are adjustable in size. Our replica is fitting with a chest girth of 116cm to 120 cm. Of course it should always be measured the final chest girth considering all padded cloth.
